About Ultra Skin Ease
They say necessity is the mother of invention. In 2006 my brother learned that he had a malignant growth on one of his vocal cords. He was told that he would need to undergo a seven week course of radiation therapy treatment. The radiation was aimed at his vocal cord through the front of his neck. I knew that my brother was in good hands and that the doctors would do whatever they needed to do to help my brother battle his cancer, but I wanted to do something to help, too. His skin had always been particularly sensitive and I knew that many people suffer burning during radiation therapy. I worried that his skin would burn painfully during his much needed radiation treatments, especially since the treatment had to occur in an area of his body, the neck, where the skin is thin and there is very little, if any, fat.
I had been working with and using essential oils for about 25 years by this time, and marketing my own high quality line of skin care products for six years. I was familiar with many essential oils and other ingredients that I knew to be helpful in soothing dry, irritated, burned skin with their natural beneficial nutrients. I decided to make my brother the best, most soothing, skin lotion I could come up with. I did not care about the cost. I had already created the essential oil blend I would use to encourage healthy new skin cell regeneration. I had made it for my niece, a springboard diver, who was prone to breakouts of boils and, sometimes, staph infections on her legs. All that was left to do was to pull together the magical ingredients needed to create the nutrient rich base that would carry healing properties and essential oils into the skin.
I decided to take out all the water I used to make my lotion and replaced it with Aloe Vera juice. Aloe Vera has been used for centuries to ease, soothe, and promote healing for all types of minor burns and other skin maladies. Aloe Vera penetrates the skin quickly and carries the ingredients it is mixed with into the skin. Shea and Mango Butters, along with other natural ingredients, were also chosen for their nutrient rich, skin soothing properties. The result was a thick, skin softening, silky, rich, lotion. I had created it to ease the skin and decided to call it Skin Ease.

My brother on the day after his last radiation treatment
My brother applied the lotion every day after his radiation treatment, again in the middle of the day and again at bedtime. The lotion penetrated the skin within a few minutes and left no greasy after feel. My brother’s skin held up wonderfully, so well in fact, that in his fourth week of treatment, his doctor asked him to stop using the lotion so that they could be sure he was getting enough radiation. It seems that skin irritation and burning is so normal during radiation treatment that the doctors and technicians got a little concerned when they saw no evidence of my brother’s skin scorching. My brother complied and stopped using the cream. Within a few days his skin began to turn pink with burning. Relieved, his doctor then gave him the go ahead to resume using the lotion and within a week his skin eased and the burns healed.
I am thankful for modern medicine and for the doctors, nurses, researchers, and technicians that care for us when we are acutely ill or injured, but I am also intensely aware that much of what we need to take care of and heal ourselves is found all around us in nature. One of my passions, from the time I was a young teenager, is to find out about natural elements, components, and remedies to help my family and me live better. I am constantly combing the Internet, speaking with natural chemists and skin care professionals, and reading to educate myself about naturally occurring ingredients and new discoveries that I can incorporate into the skin care products I package. The ingredients in Skin Ease products are gathered from all over the globe. The 100% pure Sandalwood oil used in the Ultra Skin Ease essential oil blend is from East India and has been used for thousands of years in skin care preparations. Shea Butter is from Africa and is filled with skin soothing, anti-aging, nutrients and even has some sun blocking properties to help protect skin from the sun’s rays. The Aloe Vera used in Skin Ease products is from the American Southwest and has 27 naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes to bathe your skin in comfort and rejuvenate skin cells.
Our skin is the largest organ of the body. It is alive. It breathes, eliminates wastes, and absorbs nutrients and sometimes pollution through the pores. It is important to be mindful of what we use on our skin. Skin Ease products are filled with wholesome, natural, goodness and deliver that same goodness to your skin. I believe you simply won’t find better natural skin care products anywhere.
